All current pets in the home must be spayed/neutered, current on vaccinations and dogs taking heartworm prevention to be considered.
All of our pets including dogs and cats have been spayed or neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. The dogs have been tested for heartworm (or treated and are negative) and are on heartworm prevention. It is our goal to provide you with a healthy addition to your family.
We are excited to announce that we have a dog trainer on our volunteer board. Foster families have been educated on proper techniques for training the dogs and we can assist adopters with any issues that may arise following an adoption.

Foster- 9 pound, Chi-weenie
Foster is a sweet tri-colored Chi-weenie who was rescued from a local kill shelter one evening when her owner was going to just dump her on the front lawn as the shelter was closed when he got there. Lucky for Foster, her guardian angel was looking out for her. Foster is three years old and gets along with other dogs, cats and kids. She will make a great family pet. She is very social and waggy. She was so excited to have her photo taken for Christmas.

Recently Adopted Dogs
Cricket-40 pound boxer mix
Cricket is the proud mommy of eight boxer mix puppies including Tonka Chuck. She is a very sweet and loving dog with lots of enthusiasm for life. Considering she had a hard start by ending up homeless and pregnant, she has forgiven her humans and is ready to move on to a new forever loving home. She is only about 2 years old and weighs less than 40 pounds. She gets along with other dogs and kids. Cricket's dream is to have her own family for the holidays. She will make a great walking or jogging partner! Make her yours today!
Lilly-15 pounds
Lilly is a 3-5 year old yorkie mix. She was found wandering around in the alley way of her foster mom. She was covered in matted fur and was very afraid. She has been spayed and is doing really well. She is living in a home with Foster and is very happy. Her social skills have ben stunted as we believe she was likely left outside and used for breeding. But we will never know for sure what she endured. She has forgiven her humans and is very sweet and loving. She is good with kids too but we think she will be happiest in a calm environment with someone who has lots of time to spend with her. We have just learned that she has epilepsy and will require daily medications. She is a sweet dog who deserves a loving home with someone who is not afraid of loving her and caring for her needs.

Sampson (upper right) Jack (lower right)- HOLD
These handsome hound shepherd mix boys found abandoned in Bonham over the summer have been taken off the available adoption list as we have learned they have a serious genetic disorder called severe bilateral hip dysplasia. When we first accepted them into our group the boys were healthy and normal but over the course of a couple of months, they started having trouble walking, sitting, and getting up from a sitting position. We knew something was terribly wrong when x-rays confirmed our suspicions. The boys will each need a surgery to remove the ball of the femur off of the hip. They will never walk normally again, but at least they will not be in severe pain.
Sampson underwent hip surgery on December 15th. He has recovered and we have determined he will not require another hip surgery any time soon and hopefully not ever. He is ready to be adopted. This is one of the sweetest dogs of all time. He cuddles, loves to be with you, enjoys other pets and children. He also talks and has lots to say.
Jack underwent his first hip surgery on January 3, 2011. He is currently in recovery and doing great. It is unknown at this time if he will require another surgery so therefore his is on hold pending recovery.
If you are interested in adopting Sampson or contributing to their surgical expenses, please send a donation. These are two of the sweetest dogs in the world and they deserve a second chance at a wonderful life that they have earned and deserve.
Please join our facebook page to keep up with their progress.

Cisco-4 year old Rottwieler-Adotption Pending
Cisco is a 4 year old Rottweiler who we rescued from the Garland Animal Shelter. He says he was such a good boy. Just sitting and waiting quietly with all his manners on full display, but no one came for him. Our trainer noticed what a well behaved boy he was being and decided we should take him on. Though he had already been neutered, he was still heartworm positive. He has received treatment for heartworm and is a great dog with lots to offer. He would do fine in a home with another dog and older kids.
Mr. Cooper-2 years old, 9 pounds
Mr. Cooper was first dropped at the Richardson Animal Shelter, late one night. He had been severely injured and his worn and emaciated body placed in a cardboard box and sealed with tape. In the morning when the shelter staff discovered him he could not move his legs or lift his head. For two months the shelter staff nursed Mr. Cooper - who they had named Chance. With their kindness, he began to hold his head up and started trying to stand and then walk. In January he became part of Take Me Home and we continued what the shelter staff had started. We also found he was heartworm positive. Mr. Cooper received his name from his foster mom who said she was 'Just Hang'n with Mr. Cooper' during his recuperation. This boy has been neutered and treated for heartworm. He is ready for his new home. He will do best in a quiet home without small children and he prefers to have someone home with him more than not.

Great Pyrenees Puppies
The word is out. Yes, we have some gorgeous puppies! They were abandoned in a height kill shelter in Wolf City. We have four boys that are looking for fur-ever homes. The only girl, in the center of the photo, has been adopted.
These dogs will grow to be over 100 pounds. They require a lot of exercise their first year. The need to go to homes with big yards and owners who will commit to walk them at least twice a day. They make great family pets and do wonderful with children and other pets. The will be adopted to homes where someone is home more than not so that they can frequently practice their potty training skills and commands.
Our adoption fee for all puppies is only $200.00 and includes spay/neuter, all puppy vaccinations when you use our veterinarian, worming and microchipping. Because we require a home visit, local adoptions are a must.
Auggie
Auggie is a one year old beautiful buckskin Plotthound/Great Pyrenees mix. . She is a very big dog with lots to offer. She is a little shy at first but warms right up. She will do best in a quiet home without small children. We think she was probably abused as a puppy so she will need a special home where she is appreciated and loved. She has come a long way since the hot month of August when we first brought her into our program.
