Mar. 7, 2016 – Monday Meow

Monday Meow 3/7/16

First, let us just get this clear: It. Is. Kitten. Season. In fact, there’s been some discussion that kitten season from last year never ended!

We have been bombarded with requests to help new momma cats and pregnant cats in need! This week’s Monday Meow is full of momma cats and kittens, some we have recently taken in, some that have recently given birth, and some that we would love to find space in our organization for (that’s where you come in!) as well as a few others that wanted to pop in for a quick update!

Sugar Has 3 Babies!

Sugar on the streets

Only 24 hours had passed since Sugar was rescued from the place you see in the photo above and she began delivering kittens. Unfortunately 3 did not make it, but she still has 3 more to feed, clean, and love.

Happy Sugar with kittens

Sugar is seen here (2-days post delivery) feeding her 3 to-be-named kittens. The content look on her face tells us that we are doing the best job we can. This is how we volunteers get “paid” – happy, smiling cats, snuggles, and lots of purring… which leads us to the following video.

Make sure to turn up your volume when you watch this short video clip… you don’t want to miss the audio for sure! Stay tuned, we will certainly have more photos of these cutie pies as they grow!

New Mom Needs A Place To Stay

Momma cat and kittens

We would love to be able to take this cat and her newborn kittens into our program. They are currently living in a garage where the momma cat gave birth, no place to raise kittens. There’s just one thing holding us back from accepting them into our program: we need a foster home to house them for a few weeks while they grow.

Did you know that to become a Foster Home you don’t have to provide supplies or medical? We take care of litter, cat food, kitten food, toys, bedding, and all of the cat and kittens medical services! All we need from our fosters is a spare bedroom or guest bathroom for the cat and kittens to bunk in for a few weeks. In fact, when kittens are this young the momma cat will take care of them, so all you have to do is take care of her!

Liberty At Meet ‘N’ Greet

Liberty on shoulder
Liberty on two laps
Sweet Liberty came to visit this Saturday at our Meet ‘n’ Greet event where she found plenty of laps to lay in as well as people willing to carry around her. Her foster mother says “Liberty’s paws don’t touch the ground at meet & greet and “Sometimes one lap is just not enough”… what perfect captions for the above photos!

If you haven’t had a chance to meet Liberty yet, then what on earth are you waiting for?? This sweet girl is looking for just the right home to spoil her and give her lots of cat treats, maybe that’s your home! Have your people contact her people, k?

Pst, here’s the cat adoption application and her profile.

Happily Ever After… it’s what we strive for!

Remember these guys?!

3 Kittens

3 happy kittens

That’s right, it’s Callie, Buddy and Midnight (now Mikey)! We just heard word from their new mom and dad that they are doing fantastic, and these pictures sure prove it. Here’s what their mom and dad had to say when they sent in the photos:

The boys are doing great and are growing lots. Mikey (midnight) likes to chase his dad around and grab onto his pant legs. He’s the only one that will sit on their laps for any period of time. The boys like to eat. They are quite pushy in the morning waiting for their wet food.

Callie is still quite skittish and is taking a little longer to settle in, thought she was apparently purring for her new mom the other day! The boys love to cuddle with Callie on the couch or in the middle of the floor when their mom and dad go to bed.

If you have a happy adoption story to share, just send us an email to info@takemehomepetrescue.com. We love to hear happy adoption stories and updates from ones adopted in the past… who knows we may even feature your pet’s story here in our blog!

Kittens First Bath

3 Wet Kittens

Ok, we could not resist including this ADORABLE photo of Katie Purry, Leonardo DiCatprio and Catrick Swayze post-bath in their warm towel. They have a wonderful foster family that is so dedicated to taking great care of them, we couldn’t do what we do with out this foster family! Foster homes are so important to our organization, please give it some consideration and talk about it to all of your friends and family members 😉

Thanks, again, for reading our Monday Meow… it means so much to our cat team and to our cats that you are interested in what they are doing and telling the world about them. Have a great week… and just remember, you already made it through Monday. 🙂
